"All my music comes from me." It may seem like an obvious statement, but in a world of sampled beats and hit-maker production teams, Josh's remark comes as profound enlightenment. "Really, every note or chord or melody is a part of me. So when I sing something or play it on guitar, I'm sharing a part of me that maybe cannot be expressed in just words. Music allows us to express our truest selves to others, and at the same time it's fun."
And that fun and honesty can be heard all over Josh's music. His debut CD, Entre la Distancia, catches all the emotions of love, loss, joy, and pain, and rolls them into a tight melodic package that will hold you from beginning to end.
"I write songs because I get a tune or melody in my head." And he must have a lot of tunes in his head, because before his first album is finished, Josh has already started recording the follow-up. "Recording allows for my music to have a life."
